The main window has a simple and neatly organized look, where you can type or paste text in the first box, pick the source and output languages, click the "Translate" button, and view the translation in the second box.
Unfortunately, Simple translator doesn't have an automatic detection feature. Supported languages include Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Estonian, Persian, Finish, and French.
In addition, you can click a button to hear how the words in the input box are pronounced out loud, as well as copy text using the mouse cursor (or press Ctrl+A to select everything) and by right-clicking to copy (or press Ctrl+C).
There's also a feature implemented for scanning an image to recognize text using OCR and translate it into a foreign language, which can be activated by bringing up the app commands bar to the screen. Sadly, clicking the button didn't lead to anything in our tests.
It would've been useful if the translation app implemented both a feature for automatically identifying the input language as well as a button for swapping the input and output language.
Simple translator Serial took a long time to translate simple text in our evaluation. Also, it quited to the desktop when attempting to translate large text.
On top of that, there are some display issues surrounding the "Translate" button, which often glitches and increases in size, occupying most part of the window. It seems that this app has too many problems to be considered a reliable language translator.
