Besides the fact that it can preserve the original format, the tool is also an image converter, giving you the possibility to save all output files with the same extension (JPG, PNG, TIF or BMP). The new images can be saved in any directory you specify.
In the settings panel you can choose the language and instruct the application to include or exclude subfolders, keep or ignore the original date and time, overwrite any existing files inside the destination folder, and to play or disable sound when the process is complete. Regarding the JPEG format, you can check to copy metadata and also select the level of quality.
However, the program could have given its users the possibility to preview the full-sized images before making the changes. Sadly, it only has thumbnail view.
In conclusion, the program offers what is expected of a photo resizer but nothing special. When it comes to pros and cons, Plastiliq ImageResizer Serial is a free tool, available in different languages and extremely easy to use, but it doesn’t have richer features. On top of that, we’ve encountered several issues in our tests, like images we tried adding to the task list but failed because they couldn’t be identified by the app.
