The entire program's packed in just one executable file that you can place anywhere on the computer and double-click it to fire up Desktop Clock.
You can also keep it stored on a USB flash drive and effortlessly launch it on any machine with little effort.
However, it's not entirely portable because it depends on .NET Framework to function, so make sure to have this software framework installed.
Time is automatically synced to the system time at startup, so you can check out the current hour and minute in 12-clock format in the main app window. Sadly, seconds are not represented in this tool.
Above it, Desktop Clock Serial shows the actual day of the week and date (month, day, year). Besides the fact that you can close the program, from the right-click menu, there are no other notable settings.
Unfortunately, there are no customization options available for this clock app. It would've been useful if you were able to choose between 12- and 24-clock mode (for those who aren't accustomed to the AM/PM format), as well as to pick different colors for the background and text.
Desktop Clock had minimal impact on the machine's performance in our tests. Although it hadn't been updated for a while, it worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests, and we didn't have to resort to the compatibility troubleshooter.
Although it's a simple clock that has little to offer, Desktop Clock can be explored by those interested in alternative ways to view time on their computers.
