RapidRAW 1.3.3 [Update]

RapidRAW is a beautiful, non-destructive, GPU‑accelerated RAW image editor designed for speed and simplicity. It uses a lightweight (~30 MB), efficient code base built with Rust, React and Tauri. Ideal for Lightroom workflows, it offers rich editing tools-exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites/blacks, tone curves, HSL mixer, dehaze, vignetting, film grain, sharpening, clarity and noise reduction-processed in real-time on the GPU.

Features include intuitive masking (brush, linear, radial, AI-powered subject and foreground detection), generative edit layers (via ComfyUI), 32‑bit precision, and full RAW format support through rawler. RapidRAW also provides library management (folder navigation, ratings, metadata, EXIF viewer), batch operations, export presets (JPEG/PNG/TIFF), sidecar editing (.rrdata), undo/redo history, customizable UI themes, smooth animations, resizable panels, and preset copy/paste.

A modern high-performance Lightroom alternative with polished UX and creative tools, RapidRAW brings powerful photo editing to photographers seeking speed, responsive GPU feedback, and streamlined workflows.

RapidRAW 1.3.2 changelog:

  • NEW: Tag & Filter Images with Color Labels - You can now tag & filter images using color labels

Compatibility

  • Previously, RapidRAW depended on TEXTURE_BINDING_ARRAY, a GPU feature required for image processing that was only supported on modern graphics cards. As a result, many users encountered errors and reported that RapidRAW wasn't working for them. To address this, I've developed an alternative GPU processing method that doesn't rely on this feature - while maintaining the same level of performance.

Various Improvements

  • Major refactoring of the ComfyUI generative AI foundation (still a work in progress).
  • Removed the reset button from sliders and integrated it into the slider labels.
  • Fixed bugs related to right-clicking and image rating.
  • Improved reliability of spacebar / F key detection for zoom and fullscreen.
  • The green fullscreen button now properly triggers true fullscreen mode on macOS.

RapidRAW 1.3.3 changelog:

Image Importer

  • RapidRAW now includes an image importer, allowing you to bring photos into a chosen location within your open library. You can import using a naming scheme and subfolder structure, and even delete images from the source device after a successful copy.

Batch Renaming

  • You can now batch rename images using a flexible, customizable naming scheme.

Reworked Crop & Transforms Tool

  • The transform tools - especially 90° rotation - were previously buggy. They've been reworked and now function near flawlessly. I haven't managed to break them yet, even with portrait images.

Image Straighten Tool

  • With the new straighten tool, you can draw a line (e.g. a horizon or reference edge), and it'll automatically rotate the image so that line is perfectly straight.
