The interface is quite simple and allows you to enter the commands and read the assistant’s feedback in the main window. The program is designed to provide audio feedback for every command so instead of reading the answer you can simply listen to it.
You can use this program to dim your screen, set an alarm and adjust the volume by using fairly simple commands. Additionally, you can view the running system processes and order JARVIS to kill a certain task in order to close an application.
Although it looks like a fun application, these are several things that can make you reconsider the first impression. For instance, the voice files included in the package are not licensed so you can only use the default Windows voice.
You can view the list of commands by typing in “help”. However, you might stumble across some that are not available for your system such as “msnbrowse” which is supposed to launch the Windows Live Messenger.
Moreover, the list of commands does not provide you with details about the purpose of a certain item. Although most commands are easy to understand, “killmos” or “im back” might not mean much to some users.
Overall, JARVIS is a helpful personal assistant but it needs some work in order to start using it on a daily basis.
