The main window is divided in two panels, one that shows the categories and another that displays ebook thumbnails.
In order to add one or more files in the library, you have to browse their location and choose all the items you wish to enlist.
You can split or merge several rows of files into a single one when it comes to books with more than one chapter. The tool downloads information for each one and attempts to retrieve the ISBN. This can be manually entered if you have it at hand.
Once done you can save the items to the library; they are automatically inserted into the lists. Each book's information can be edited, such as image, title, author, publisher, published date, and a small description.
When ebooks are displayed in a detailed view, you can sort them by clicking on the column's headers for ascending or descending order. Furthermore, searching books can be done by entering pieces of the information mentioned above, or by keyword. The library shows all books matching the text in any of the book’s info fields.
eLibrary Serial is also capable of monitoring a specified directory to automatically add to its library new detected ebooks. It gives you the possibility to pick the file types you want to take into account while excluding the rest, and it works even after exiting the tool.
Importing books is done by uploading complete records from a previously created database. However, it doesn't retrieve files, but only cover images and data.
To add a book to a particular tag it's necessary to enter edit mode and mark the new category. "Untagged" displays only those items you haven’t tagged yet, along with the most recent loaded books.
To sum it up, eLibrary comes in handy if you're looking for an efficient and easy-to-use software tool for organizing ebooks, featuring categories, various sorting modes, advanced search tool, and more.
