The Modern UI is based on a large window with a neatly organized structure. Separate from the APFT Calculator are features for using a counter and timer, stop watch, and body fat calculator.

When it comes to the army fitness calculator, you can select the age group from a list (ranging from 17-21 to 62+), gender, number of push-ups and sit-ups you can do, as well as how long it takes you to complete a 2-mile run (in minutes and seconds).

Once you press the "Calculate" button, APFT Calculator determines your fitness training and tells you whether you would pass ("PASS") or fail ("INVALID"). The calculator can be reset any time to make new computations.

The counter gives you the possibility to count objects, events, people or animals by just clicking the + sign. You can also press the - sign to subtract a unit, even if it means creating a negative number.

The countdown timer starts from 2 minutes and cannot be changed. You can activate it by pressing "Start" and restart it with "Reset". Unfortunately, it didn't work in our tests, as the countdown was accelerated and two minutes were over in just a few seconds.

On the other hand, the stopwatch function worked well. It has buttons for starting, stopping (pause and resume) and resetting, and it can be used for your 2-mile run. Lastly, the body fat calculator lets you find out if you pass or fail the army fitness test by taking into account your age group, gender, height (inches) and weight (pounds).

Unfortunately, APFT Calculator Serial supports only the imperial system, so those who only know the metric system have to resort to a unit converter outside of this application.
