The decision maker can be downloaded and installed from the Store on desktops and mobile devices running Windows 10, 8 and 8.1. After setup, it's safe to deactivate the Internet connection if you don't need it for other PC activities, since this app can be used even when you're offline.
As far as the Modern UI is concerned, there's nothing much to be said about it. Sometimes covers the entire window in blue or red right at startup.
At every mouse click, it makes a new decision on your behalf, oscillating between red and blue. Of course, it doesn't have to produce an equal number of reds and blues, since the selection is random.
Unfortunately, this is where the program's functionality ends. While we can definitely get behind the idea of making quick color-coded decisions on the spot, we don't like the fact that the developer hasn't implemented a customization setting for adjusting the brightness of the colors, if not replacing them with different colors or adding new ones to the decision wheel.
The red and blue tones are bright and put a terrible strain on the eyes, making the screen unbearable to watch after witnessing a couple of color changes on mouse click.
We wouldn't want to get ahead of ourselves, but another feature we would have liked is the possibility to write custom text. Nevertheless, we appreciate and understand the simplicity behind Sometimes Serial, enabling you to make decisions based on the red and blue colors. However, we cannot get along with the lack of what we think are decent configuration options to tame the screen colors.
