The application sports a really neat and lightweight graphical interface with multiple tools and features at hand. It comes with free-form drawability at any point in the document without having to switch tools.
It allows you to adjust some general settings inside the application, you can view line numbers, enable collapsible lines and set the dimensions for the left margin.
You simply need to click anywhere inside the window in order to create text documents, it doesn't have any character limit.
It comes with a built-in binary editor that opens certain files and displays their inner bytes, the bytes display as color-coded and you can even edit either the byte values as numbers or you can edit the individual bits of each of the file's bytes.
All text files can be saved with highly compressed image data at the bottom allowing them to reopen with images and text, and even if a text file has stored sketch data it will still open up just as well in a normal text editor.
It comes with some basic text editing tools and the option to highlight important words in the text. You can also use the drawing tool with brushes and it comes with the option to set keyboard shortcuts, to work on your text documents faster.
Certain files can be opened in binary-mode, which is Paper Serial's built-in binary viewer/editor. All in all, Paper Serial is a very useful software solution that allows you to create and edit text on your computer using basic and some advanced features.
