After a quick setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, you're welcomed by a very small window that shows all options available through this app.
You can click a button to enable desktop mode and freely explore any elements visible on the screen to select a color. Color Picker shows a preview of in its window, lists its RGB and hex codes, and informs you that you can capture a color by triggering the Alt+C key combination.
Otherwise, it's possible to click another button for accessing the color palette bundled with Windows to choose a color. Unfortunately, the utility doesn't implement buttons for copying or saving color codes, but copies can be made by selecting text and using the Ctrl+C global hotkey.
As we expected, the software program didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed low CPU and memory. It didn't cause any Windows stability issues, although it hasn't been updated for a long time. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
On the other hand, Color Picker Serial has limited features. For example, it doesn't contain a magnification tool that follows to mouse when searching for a color, nor does it store codes for multiple colors. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
