The interface is not attractive at all but easy to navigate. FLAC files can be added to the list using the file browser, since the drag-and-drop method is unsupported. Unfortunately, batch processing is not possible in the free edition of the app, so you can convert only one item at a time.
The list shows the status, task time, size, source and output directory, along with the length of the track. FLAC to MP3 Converter offers a few preset profiles concerning quality, while letting advanced users select their own quality, sample rate and number of channels. It is not possible to create and save custom profiles, though.
Furthermore, you can cancel the task at any time, as well as set the program to automatically turn off the computer when it is done. There are no other notable features provided by this application.
FLAC to MP3 Converter includes a help file and a few themes for the GUI. It has a good response time and finishes a conversion job quickly, delivering quality MP3 files. However, it lacks many important features that would have greatly helped out the user. Other than that, it did not cause us any problems during our evaluation, such as hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs.
