On launch, you’re greeted by a selection window, so you can pick one or more folders that contains songs, so the playlist can be assembled. In case you already have a playlist created in iTunes, the application can be used to scan and import elements from it.
Additional options let you select the default player to use. You can either leave the one Windows brings up automatically, or manually pick a different one from your computer. Sadly, this means that the application doesn’t support playback on its own, so if you’re looking for an alternative audio player, this is not your lucky pick.
All files you add are enlisted along with details like track name, number, album, artist, and length. Moreover, you can shuffle the order, or reverse it, while it’s possible to move them around in a custom position, after which it can be saved as M3U. Although there’s a play button, it only brings up your default player to take care of this task.
All in all, it’s easy enough to create a playlist, with most popular media players coming with this as a default feature. Music Picker Serial wants to make it a bit easier, with options to load songs from multiple locations, and even a different application, but the list of playlist management options leaves more to be desired, while there aren’t any built-in playback controls.
