The ruler has a silver skin and is displayed horizontally, but you can switch to the vertical position by clicking the first button in the upper right corner. Aside from moving the app's frame anywhere on the screen, you can add as many markers as you want.
Cool Ruler Serial's configuration is made through the context menu. You can set the measurement mode to a preset unit (inches, pixels, centimeters) or set a custom value by defining the unit size (pixels per unit), ticks per unit, and display unit value.
It is also possible to modify the ruler scale, clear marks, change the mark color and font, as well as bring up additional rulers (i.e. multiple instances are allowed). The app also integrates a scientific calculator, which is available through the main screen.
