Aqua's KeyTest captures keystrokes or key combinations alike. Unpressed keys are colored gray, while those who were tested and marked as 'ok' are displayed in yellow. Key combinations (buttons pressed simultaneously) are shown in dark grey.
You should keep in mind that the keyboard input is practically sent to Aqua's KeyTest first when the application is opened, so it might happen that other software tools you are using in the background don't respond. This was the case with our screen capturing tool as we tried to take screenshots of the application.
Aqua's KeyTest displays the bios and the Windows key codes of the key you pressed most recently, as well as its symbol. Furthermore, it can run a led test to verify if all the LEDs - the NumLock, the Caps Lock, and the Scroll Lock - are working as they should.
Compared to other competitor applications, Aqua's KeyTest promises to avoid capturing fake input created by various applications that rely on the Windows API to simulate clicks and keystrokes.
Aqua's KeyTest is a more than simple application, but it comes in handy if you need to make sure one or more buttons on the keyboard are funcioning as they should.
