Double-clicking the tray icon brings up the settings panel where you can explore the different themes available, such as rainy day, countryside, forest, greenwood, tropical beach, night forest, creek, and fireplace.
The ambient sounds begin to play in loop as soon as you select a theme. They are also accompanied by a small, representative image (the desktop wallpaper is not changed into this picture, though). Next, you can simply exit the panel and carry on with your typical desktop activity while hearing the nature sounds.
As far as other configuration options are concerned, you can instruct the program to automatically run as soon as Windows boots, and play a random or the last selected theme at startup. Quitting the app can only be done from the right-click menu of the systray button.
Too bad that it's not possible to adjust its volume level without affecting the entire system volume, which would've worked hand in hand with playing music over the relaxing sounds.
Unsurprisingly, the utility worked without error on the newest Windows edition in our tests, consuming little system resources. Click and Relax Serial is not particularly rich in features but it comes packed with a great set of nature sounds, like chirping birds, crackling fire, farm animals, heavy or light rain.
