When it comes to the interface, ShutdownerX opts for a normal window with an unpolished look and neatly organized structure, revealing all options put at your disposal.

If you want to set the shutdown action on a countdown timer, you can specify the number of seconds, minutes and hours to start counting down from. Otherwise, you can set the exact time to trigger the action. It uses your computer's clock for reference.

By default, the program applies force when attempting to power off the computer, which means that it will terminate any running processes, so make sure to save your ongoing work beforehand. Alternatively, you can disable the forceful shutdown mode.

It creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area at startup and gets minimized there to become non-intrusive and let you carry on with your regular computer activity while monitoring the shutdown timer.

Worth noting is that, unlike other PC shutdown tools, this one doesn't notify you before the machine is about the power off, in order to give you the possibility to change your mind and cancel the task. However, you can exit the program anytime from the systray.

Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, it worked smoothly on newer Windows editions in our tests, without hanging, crashing or displaying error dialogs. CPU and RAM usage was minimal. However, ShutdownerX Serial has a light set of options and its interface needs improvements in the graphical department.
