Following a fast setup operation, you're welcomed by a plain and simple window which shows everything that File Splitter+ has to offer.

You can begin by indicating the large file you want to cut with the aid of the built-in file browser, then specify a saving directory and base name for the new parts.

Below this area are two empty boxes that, unfortunately, aren't described, making it difficult to figure out how the splitting operation works.

In fact, there are two trimming modes available: by size or by parts. If you want to split files to create smaller pieces with a specific dimension, you can enter the amount of kilobytes in the first box, then click "Split".

In the popup confirmation message, you can find out the number of volumes that will be created, along with their dimension, except for the last part which will be smaller.

Otherwise, if you're interested in indicating the number of parts instead of the file size, you can write it down in the second empty box before clicking "Split".

In this case, the popup confirmation messages tells you the designated number of volumes along with the file size. However, the tool cannot create more than 300 parts.

Once the operation is ready, the utility asks you whether you want the file parts to be automatically deleted when double-clicking the .bat to merge the pieces back together and reconstruct the original file.

The file names of the new volumes contain the base name and consecutive numbers as extensions, so they cannot be opened with any program. Just make sure they are in the same directory as the .bat file in order for the merger to be successful.
