Total Commander 11.51

Total Commander is a great two-pane file manager replacement for Windows, a program like Windows Explorer to copy, move, or delete files. It includes extra integrated applications like a built-in FTP client with FXP, a renaming tool, a disk space analyzer, a file synchronizer, can pack and unpack files, compare files by content, a quick view panel with bitmap display, HTTP proxy support and more.

Total Commander 10 is compatible with Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10/11. Total Commander is distributed as shareware with a trial period of 30 days, but will continue to function, with a subscription reminder, after that.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

FTP Improvements

  • Prevent sending the command to preserve timestamps during uploads if the server doesn't support it.
  • Fixed issues with FTP log file paths in "FTP download from list..." mode.
  • Large FTP downloads will not retry if the received file size matches.

File Management & UI Fixes

  • Lister Scroll Fix: Adjust scrollbar range after zooming font to ensure the end of the file is accessible.
  • Synchronize Dirs: Environment variables (e.g., %ProgramFiles%) inside paths are no longer replaced incorrectly.
  • Checksum Icon Fix: .sha256 checksum files now properly display their icons even after being opened via "Open with".
  • Fix for OneDrive Folder Management: Ensure symbolic links to OneDrive subfolders are deleted first.
  • Shift+F5 Fix: New folder creation now properly places the cursor on the new folder.

Archive Handling

  • 7-Zip Unpacking: Fix for encrypted 7z archives showing empty archive names when asking for a password.
  • Unrar Password Prompt: Now prompts for a different password when unpacking from a solid archive if the previous one was incorrect.
  • Overriding Archive Opening: Fixes for internal associations not working correctly for all archive types.

Application Behavior Fixes

  • Fix for Double Click on Images: JPG/PNG files failed to open in Photos app if their names were URL-encoded.
  • Single-Click Navigation Fix: Focus properly follows the mouse cursor after drag & drop when using "Open files with single click".
  • F4 Edit Fix: Editing with an administrator-set editor now works correctly.
  • Registry Key Installation Fix: Installing a key in the registry when KeyPath=$ was set in wincmd.ini now writes valid data.
